Athlete Recovery

Athlete Performance and Recovery (APR) is focused on fine-tuning and re-balancing athletes to help them become as efficient as possible, decreasing the risk of injury and improving injury recovery.

APR was created to address the aggressive demands, mentality, and specificity of professional and amateur sport by combining several movement techniques (especially Pilates) to help strengthen, stabilize and mobilize an athlete specific to the needs of their sport.

Our specialty is assessing and correcting muscular compensation patterns, instabilities and misalignments. We give the athletes tools and cues to apply their corrections to their respective sports.

Our exercises and corrections are purposefully dynamic and full bodied to simulate and be relatable to the athlete. Sessions are structured to the demands and needs of each individual and their sport.

APR gives athletes the edge that they need whether it be recovering from injury quicker, becoming more mobile, or becoming stronger and more explosive.

Athletes are powerful movers that can often compensate and move inefficiently to “get the job done”. The APR program helps to rebuild the foundations of these bodies and improve neuromuscular connection.

The APR program is based in:

  • Pilates
  • Corrective Exercises
  • Muscle Activation Techniques
  • Breathing and Relaxation Techniques

Our Goals:

  • Decrease Risk of Injury
  • Improve Recovery Time
  • Improve Mobility and Flexibility
  • Improve Stability and Core Strength
  • Increase Body Awareness
  • Improve Sustainability and Longevity of Athletes

The APR Team has worked with:

  • Canadian National Gymnasts
  • National Bobsleigh Athletes
  • Alpine Canada
  • NHL Athletes (See “Hockey Performance and Recovery”)
  • CFL Athletes
  • Triathletes and Marathon Runners
